Nicole Kidman and the Urban Romance Rumors
Category: SOFTPEDIA NEWS :: Entertainment

The Bewitched star is said to have been reportedly snubbed by Australian singer Keith Urban who did not call her up after she gave him her phone number.

Nicole Kidman gave her telephone number to Keith Urban but he did not call her. The Bewitched star was therefore said to have been snubbed by the Australian singer.

He never called and Nicole was actually kind of put out. However, Keith eventually got round to calling the porcelain-skinned actress, and the pair are reportedly now besotted with each other, a source was quoted by Femalefirst, as saying.

A friend of the star added to E Online website that they really do genuinely like each other. She’s smitten, and he appears to be.

Last month, Nicole and Keith, were spotted enjoying a motorbike ride together in Woodstock, New York, before sharing lunch at a health food restaurant. Rumors about their romance spread very fast.

Kidman’s spokesperson insisted the actress is just a friend of the singer.
I really think people are making more of this than there is, she said.

Meanwhile, Nicole Kidman is focusing on her career as she agreed to star in Invasion, Emma’s War, Wedding Season and took the leading role in Won Kar Wai’s debut in English, The Lady from Shanghai.

Beautiful Nicole Kidman has been spotted again in the company of country singer Keith Urban, fueling rumors of romance.

The pair was seen dinning at the Good News Café in Woodbury, Connecticut on Saturday night and 'looked very together', despite insisting they are just best friends. They returned to the restaurant the next day.

A witness told America's New York Post newspaper: "He was a perfect gentleman. He opened the car door for her when they left. They were deep in conversation all during dinner - they looked very together."

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman's Getaway?

By Jill Atkins
Sep 6, 2005

The new rumored Aussie power couple, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban supposedly stole away a few days in the Bahamas for a private getaway according to Star People.  The magazine runs an item that says the rendezvous was so secret "few on the islands even knew they were there."

"It seems they kept the lid on everything by staying in a private residence and dealing only with the staff there," an island source told the magazine. "They stayed away from all the hotels and even exclusive resorts. It looks like they didn't use public limo services. They only used trusted friends of friends."

The mag also reports that Nicole's rep has denied they're romantically involved, but the report says the couple flew home together on the same private luxury jet — only after coyly arriving and boarding separately.

Rumors have surrounded the pair since they were spotted enjoying a motorcycle ride together in Woodstock, New York, before sharing lunch at a health food restaurant.

Can't a pair of Aussies just take a ride and enjoy a bite to eat?

Nic's spokesperson denied it then as well saying "I really think people are making more of this than there is."

Paisley, Womack Each Score Six CMA Award Nominations
Nominees Announced During New York Press Conference

Calvin Gilbert

  (James Minchin)

With Brad Paisley and Lee Ann Womack leading with six nominations each, Keith Urban's superstar potential increased when he and Toby Keith collected four nominations each for this year's CMA Awards.

Womack and Urban announced the list of final nominees Wednesday morning (Sept. 7) at New York City's Time Warner Center during a press conference televised exclusively on CMT. The 39th annual CMA Awards show takes place Nov. 15 at Madison Square Garden.

Notably, the two acts garnering the largest number of nominations did so with two very traditional-sounding singles -- Paisley's "Alcohol" and Womack's "I May Hate Myself in the Morning."

Womack's nominations include female vocalist honors (an award she won in 2001) and an album of the year nod for the hardcore country There's More Where That Came From. "I May Hate Myself in the Morning" netted single and music video nominations, and Womack received two nominations in the musical event category for "Good News, Bad News" (with George Strait) and "I'll Never Be Free" (with Willie Nelson). "I May Hate Myself in the Morning" also resulted in a song of the year nomination for songwriter Odie Blackmon.

In addition to his first-ever entertainer of the year nomination, Paisley is also up for male vocalist and is nominated in the musical event category for "New Again," a track he and Sara Evans recorded for the inspirational album, The Passion of the Christ: Songs. "Alcohol," which Paisley wrote, brought in nominations in the single, song and music video categories.

Urban also collected his first nomination for entertainer of the year. In addition to a male vocalist nomination -- a category he won in 2004 -- he is also nominated for album of the year (for Be Here and music video of the year (for "Days Go By").

Toby Keith's "As Good As I Once Was" is nominated in the single, song and music video categories. He also received an entertainer of the year nomination.

Rascal Flatts, George Strait, Sugarland and Gretchen Wilson received three nominations each. Rascal Flatts picked up nominations for vocal group, album Feels Like Today and single ("Bless the Broken Road"). In addition to a male vocalist nod, Strait is nominated for album (for Somewhere Down in Texas) and musical event (for his duet with Womack). Sugarland snared its first CMA nominations, including mentions for vocal group of the year and the Horizon honor for newer acts. The trio's "Baby Girl" also got a single of the year nomination. Wilson, 2004's Horizon winner, is nominated for female vocalist, song of the year (for "Redneck Woman," the song she wrote with John Rich of Big & Rich) and music video of the year (for "When I Think About Cheatin'").

Brooks & Dunn will host the CMA Awards, which are being held outside Nashville for the first time in the history of the Country Music Association. The awards show will return to Nashville in 2006.

"I feel fine," Urban said in a statement. "That is what is so frustrating about this situation."

Update On Keith

We reported last week that Keith Urban had been put on vocal rest after suffering a vocal cord hemorrhage.  Doctors have since cleared Keith to tour Europe, with concerts planned for England, Ireland, and Germany.  In other news, Keith was spotted recently outside Nashville with Nicole Kidman, at a restaurant and then later at an ice cream shop for dessert.  Although spokesmen for Keith and Nicole have said the two are just friends, the restaurant server said "you could tell they were a couple."

For those keeping track of such things, it's a big deal.  A published report says KEITH URBAN has been spotted in the company of actress NICOLE KIDMAN.  The country star and actress, who is TOM CRUISE's ex-wife, were seen in and around the Nashville area recently.  One observer put the two of them together at a restaurant to the south of Music City.  The couple was also spotted at an ice cream store in Nashville.  Apparently the two were affectionate towards each other.
New Video For Better Life To Debut This Week

October 11, 2005   Better Life, the latest single from Capitol Records Nashville recording artist Keith Urban, has hit #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart after just 13 weeks. Co-written by Urban and Richard Marx, Better Life is the seventh Urban single to reach the top of the U.S. country singles charts, and the third song from BE HERE to achieve that mark.  It follows Days Go By and Making Memories of Us, both of which previously hit #1.

He’s an incredible singer/songwriter; a renowned guitarist with one of the most unique voices on the radio today, said Jimmy Harnen, Capitol Record Nashville’s VP, Promotion.  As you can tell by its number one status, ‘Better Life’ is tremendously popular at radio  listeners continue to burn up the request lines for it.

The same week that Better Life goes to #1 on the country singles chart, the video for Better Life debuts on country music video outlets nationwide. Directed by Chris Hickey, who also directed Urban’s Making Memories of Us video, the two-day video shoot includes, at the beginning of the clip, a live acoustic performance from Urban on the banjo. The main performance portion of the video was shot at the popular L.A. River Basin, known to millions from the drag-racing scene in the movie Grease.
